GasCooler – an application for the Design and
Simulation of condensing (and non-condensing) gas coolers
The purpose is to Design
and Simulate vertical, water-cooled Shell and Tube gas coolers and a sample
screen dump is shown in the page “Software Examples” together with a brief
description. Further information may be downloaded HERE as a *.PDF manual, covering all
versions of the programme.
The software appears in 2
versions:
q The commercial version – identified as GasCoolerv1 –
covering a wide range of geometric sizes and loading and is offered at a price
of 300€
q A freeware version – identified as GasCoolerv0 –
that is exactly the same as the commercial version – but is limited severely
for the user-input. The freeware version may be downloaded HERE
Several years ago, I
developed an application to perform polynomial regression analysis
interactively on data files with coordinate sets and curves represented by
graphical files (scanned images, photographs, screen captures, etc.)
The programme GRAP (General
Regression Analysis Program) will take a text file (*.txt format from e.g.
Notepad) with up to 30 (x,y) coordinate sets and calculate coefficients for
polynomials with degree 1 to 8. Also, you may use the mouse to pick up to 30
coordinates along a picture of a curve (*.gif format from your favourite
graphical program) and calculate the coefficients.
